Registration for NEET UG 2024 has been started by the National Testing Agency, NTA, effective February 9, 2024. Candidates who want to apply for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2024 can do it through the official website of NTA NEET at neet.ntaonline.in.
Last Date to Apply
As per the information bulletin released by NTA, the last date to apply for NEET UG 2024 is March 9, 2024.
Date of NEET UG 2024 Examination
The NEET UG 2024 examination will be conducted on May 5, 2024.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed the Class 12 board examination or have appeared for the Class 12 board examination and the results are awaited can apply for the NEET UG 2024 medical entrance test. Candidates who have passed Class 12 from Open School or as private candidates shall not be eligible to appear for the ‘National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test’.
Examination Pattern
The duration of the NEET UG 2024 examination will be 3 hours 20 minutes. The test will comprise of four Subjects. Each subject will consist of two sections. Section A will consist of 35 Questions and Section B will have 15 Questions. Out of the 15 Questions in Section B, candidates will be allowed to choose to attempt any 10 Questions. So, the total number of questions and utilization of time will remain the same.

The application fee to apply for the NEET UG 2024 examination for different categories is:
General/ NRI category ₹1700
General-EWS/ OBC-NCL category ₹1600
SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender ₹1000

Sub: Online Application Form for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] 2024 – Reg.
The National Testing Agency has been conducting the NEET (UG) since 2019 with the approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Education, in pursuance of the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
As per Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the NEET (UG) has to be conducted as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions. Similarly, as per Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, there shall be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines i.e. BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act. NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to admission to the BHMS course under the National Commission for Homeopathy.
MNS (Military Nursing Service) aspirants seeking admission to BSc Nursing Courses being conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2024 are required to qualify for NEET (UG). The NEET (UG) score will be used for shortlisting for selection to the four-year BSc Nursing course.
The Entrance Test shall consist of 200 multiple-choice questions (four options with a single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology). 50 questions in each subject will be divided into two Sections (A and B). The duration of the Examination will be 200 minutes (03 hours 20 minutes) from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM (IST).
Drawing from the NEP 2020, the NEET (UG) – 2024 will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
*OBC-NCL (Other Backward Classes)-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central List of Other Backward Classes available on the National Commission for Backward Classes. The candidates falling on this list (available on http://www.ncbc.nic.in/ ) may mention OBC-NCL in the Category Column. Statelisted OBC-NCL Candidates who are not in OBC-NCL (Central List) must choose General.
Important Instructions:
i. Candidates can apply for NEET (UG) - 2024 through the “Online” mode only through the website https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET
ii. Submission of the Online Application Form may be done by accessing the NTA website https://exams.nta.nic.in/NEET. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
iii. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.
iv. Candidates must strictly follow the instructions given in the Information Bulletin and on the NTA website. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.
v. Candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application Form are their own or Parents/Guardians' only as all information/ communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on the registered Mobile Number only.
