Bow Valley College is a comprehensive community institution functioning under the Post-Secondary Learning Act of Alberta and has been functional since 1965.
The Bow Valley College offers diploma, certificate, and academic upgrading courses in multiple disciplines. It also provides career services and specialized courses. The college is divided into 7 different schools. They are:
- The Chiu School of Business
- The School of Continuing Learning
- The School of Community Studies
- The School of Creative Technologies
- The School of Foundational Learning
- The School of Global Access
- The School of Health and Wellness
The branch campuses of the college include Banff & Canmore, Airdrie, High River, Calgary, Okotoks, Cochrane, and Strathmore.
There are hi-tech laboratories, computer labs, libraries, conference halls, studios, and Wi-Fi connectivity at all the college campuses to support an advanced learning system. The Bow Valley College carries out industrial training for students to prepare them for real-world work environments. Skill development initiatives are undertaken at the college too in order to instill aptitude for cutting-edge technologies in students.
The College focuses extensively on extra-curricular activities and gives students enormous opportunities to showcase their talents through sports meets, music fests, dance competitions, drama and stage plays, art expos, and other events are organized at the college campus. In all these activities, cross-disciplinary participation is ensured. These events help in boosting self-confidence and developing the overall personality of students.
